We are an active club with evening natters and route planned drives, trips to France and events around the country, all year round. Our members run every sort of MG, from the pre-war  J, P, Y, (etc) models to the later TF, TS & ZT. All are welcome.

Our Subscription is £15 per year for which you get a monthly magazine with all the information regarding forthcoming events and articles of interest to the MG enthusiast.

Our summer meetings usually involve a drive to a rural pub that serves good food but our winter meetings tend to involve activities that can be done in the bar. Apart from our monthly meetings we like to get to different parts of the UK or Europe in our MGs.  If you haven’t taken your MG abroad yet, then you should – and the best way to do it is with a club. The roads are quiet, the food, the accommodation and the company are all excellent and the Europeans are really friendly to the classic car owner. In short, any excuse to get away.

Our meetings start at 8.00pm on last Tuesday of each month (7.00 or 7.30 in summer – check the programme of events) currently at The Plough, Itchen Abbas, Nr Winchester, SO21 1BQ.

News and Updates

The MSA are keen to alert those with a competition vehicle to the impact of Vnuk, a 2014 European Court judgement that threatens the future of all UK motorsport. This has been the subject of a Newsletter earlier this year.

The Court ruled that the requirement for compulsory insurance should cover any use of a vehicle, so long as that use is consistent with the normal function of the vehicle. This would require all competition cars in motorsport to have compulsory third party insurance.

In responding to the Vnuk issue, the MSA has been working with a wide range of groups including the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA), and we are now calling on the motorsport community to respond to a European Commission consultation by 20 October. To view the MIA’s call to action, which the MSA fully supports, please click here.

The MSA has previously responded to a Department for Transport consultation on Vnuk. To view the MSA’s response to that consultation, click here.
